Your company car, equipment or machinery stolen? Don't let it happen again!

You've probably experienced it before: your equipment or one of your machines is stolen at a job site. Or your employee gets up in the morning and notices that his van full of valuable equipment is no longer in his driveway, or that the van has been completely emptied. What can you do about this? Or concretely, how do you secure your assets and vehicle fleet against theft?

A theft can easily cost you between a few thousand euros to several tens of thousands of euros. Not to mention your projects getting delayed and your entire work schedule going haywire. But what else can you do besides shielding and locking your yard and warehouse, locking or locking up your equipment and taking inventory, having it tagged and registered?

The answer: digitally monitor and manage your fleet of vehicles, machines and materials. We have 4 systems to secure your assets against theft. Good to know: online track & trace and alarm systems are highly recommended by the police.

1. The simplest solution: track and trace

With track and trace, you equip your vehicles and materials with a GPS tracker. It doesn't prevent thieves from making off with your equipment. But thanks to the tracker, you always know exactly where your stolen vehiclemachine or equipment is located. Just open the app on your smartphone or the software dashboard on your PC. To get your assets back, you provide the data to the police. This allows them to drive to the exact location themselves or involve their foreign colleagues.

2. Set up an online security zone

Have you heard of geofence? It's an online security zone around your parking lot, business park or yard. With GPS, you put a virtual fence around your property. As soon as one of your vehicles or materials crosses the boundary line and leaves the zone, you immediately receive a text message or e-mail. Geofence is part of track & trace. After the alarm is raised, track& trace allows you to immediately follow in real time where the thief went with your stolen asset. Does that mean anything to you? We'd be happy to enable the option for you.

3. Secure your loading areas and materials with a sensor

Another, cheaper option: place sensors in inconspicuous places in the cargo areas of your vans or trucks or in the trunks of your cars. As soon as the sensor senses movement, it sends out a signal and you get an alarm notification. Can you place these sensors only in your cargo areas? No, you can also equip your machines and valuable materials with them undetected. As soon as your machine moves even an inch or your materials are picked up, you get a notification on your smartphone.

In the app or the software on your PC, you can see the places where the sensor sent a signal. If you don't get a new location for a while, your vehicle or machine is stopped at that spot or your material is stored.

‍4. Install a car alarm

Depending on how much your vehicle costs, your insurance company may require you to install an alarm system. Typically, they will ask you to have an INCERT-approved TT car alarm installed. Of course, you can always choose to put such an alarm on your cars yourself. The big advantage of it? Your fleet is monitored online 24/7.

You choose from 4 types of alarms. With the basic alarm, you alert your own monitoring company's control room, which then immediately checks where your car is at that moment. The higher you go, the more features you get. For example, automatic alert of the control room, facial recognition of the driver and automatic blocking of the engine when it is restarted after theft.
