Construction Site Registration, Working Hours, and Mobility: Ready for 2027

Starting April 1, 2027, simply checking in upon arrival will no longer be sufficient. In addition, the government is planning to require all employers to track working hours. LIVE.connect tracks worksites, working hours, and mobility in a single workflow, eliminating duplicate effort.

Check-in and check-out at the worksite Today, you use Checkinatwork to register your arrival. Starting April 1, 2027, you’ll also use it to register your departure—done by the employee themselves at the time of departure. Via time clock, vehicle, or app—also available for subcontractors and Limosa.
Work Time Tracking Required for all employers: the hours an employee has actually worked. This applies even to small job sites, workshops, and offices, where no check-in with the RSZ is required.
Mobility Calculation (PC 124) Who drove and who rode along, as recorded by the ID badge in the vehicle. The calculation is performed without any manual input from HR or the driver.

Legislation & Compliance
Checkinatwork (CIAW) is the mandatory electronic attendance tracking system for temporary or mobile construction sites in Belgium. Every contractor and subcontractor at a construction site with a total value of 500,000 euros or more (excluding VAT) is required to register all employees present—including self-employed individuals, temporary workers, and foreign workers with a Limosa registration. Checkinatwork is mandatory on construction sites where the total contract value is 500,000 euros (excluding VAT) or more. The registration requirement does not apply to smaller construction sites. Please note: the planned work time registration would apply to all employers, regardless of the construction site. Even on smaller construction sites, you must be able to demonstrate how many hours your employees actually worked.
Two things. Starting April 1, 2027, everyone working on a construction site with a project value of 500,000 euros or more must register themselves in real time upon arrival and departure (check-in and check-out). Advance registration will no longer be permitted. This is stipulated in the Program Act of May 30, 2026. In addition, the government plans to implement a general working-time tracking system for all employers starting January 1, 2027. That law is still being drafted. PC124 requires construction companies to track each employee’s commute and calculate an accurate commuting allowance based on the distance between their home and the job site. Doing this manually is time-consuming and prone to errors. With AllConnects, the driver is automatically identified via an ID badge in the vehicle, trips are recorded, and the calculation is performed automatically and correctly—without manual input from HR or the driver. Product & Practical Information
AllConnects offers several ways to clock in: via the smartphone app, using a badge or tag at the site’s time clock, or by scanning the ID badge in the vehicle upon arrival at the site. Foreign workers with a Limosa registration are clocked in the same way. The check-ins are sent directly to the RSZ, without any additional steps for the site manager or HR. Starting April 1, 2027, everyone will also check out on their own; the CIAW app will then become the CIAO app, which will also handle check-outs. Learn more about the CIAW app →
Yes. In addition to fleet management for vehicles, AllConnects also offers equipment management through CHECK.connect. This allows you to track the location and usage of machines, tools, and equipment via GPS trackers—even without a power source. You can immediately see where each piece of equipment is located, who is using it, and when maintenance is due. This helps you avoid loss, theft, and unexpected downtime on the job site. AllConnects supports all three methods, depending on how you operate at the job site. With the app, employees check in themselves using their smartphones. By using a badge or tag on the time clock at the job site, registration can be done without a smartphone. When arriving at the job site, the driver and passengers use their ID badges to check in via the vehicle. Starting April 1, 2027, all three methods will also record departure (check-out). You can choose the option that best suits your job site organization, or combine them.
