      Legislation & Compliance
      Checkinatwork (CIAW) is the mandatory electronic attendance tracking system for temporary or mobile construction sites in Belgium. Every contractor and subcontractor on a construction site with a total value exceeding 500,000 euros (excl. VAT) is required to register all workers present—including self-employed individuals, temporary workers, and foreign workers with a Limosa notification.       Checkinatwork is mandatory on construction sites where the total contract value exceeds 500,000 euros (excluding VAT). Smaller sites fall below this threshold, but the RSZ may also impose this requirement on smaller projects. It is always recommended to register even for projects below the threshold—to avoid fines and disputes with the social inspectorate.
