BPC Group is a Belgian construction group headquartered in Oudergem and the general contractor for the CityDox construction site in Anderlecht. Since 2020, BPC Group has been tracking attendance at its construction sites using Checkinatwork with LIVE.connect from AllConnects; at CityDox, this tracking system is linked to a turnstile at the site gate, resulting in 47,000 check-ins with the RSZ in a single month.
"We're still achieving a rate of 96 percent of the people at the construction site who have been checked and are therefore in the Checkinatwork system. The remaining 4 percent are people who might enter when a gate opens for a delivery. But deliveries are checked as well, in any case."
CityDox: a massive construction site in Anderlecht
At the CityDox construction site in Anderlecht, everything operates on a large scale: dozens of subcontractors, hundreds of workers, and a constant flow of people and equipment every day. BPC Group is the general contractor there. In 2023, Kanaal Z aired a report on how BPC tracks attendance at the site.
The context: Checkinatwork at large construction sites
At construction sites exceeding a certain contract value, contractors and subcontractors must report their employees’ attendance to the RSZ every day via Checkinatwork. The goal: to combat illegal subcontracting and off-the-books work in the construction industry. At a site like CityDox, this isn’t a matter of a few dozen registrations per day, but rather thousands per month, involving employees of all nationalities and across multiple levels of subcontracting.
The rules are changing: starting in April 2027, a check-out process will also be introduced. Find out what’s changing on our page about Check-in and Check-out at Work 2027.
The approach: Checkinatwork linked to a turnstile
What sets BPC apart from a basic implementation is its integration with a physical turnstile at the site gate. The employee scans their badge, the system checks with the RSZ to ensure everything is in order, and only then does the turnstile open. Philippe Minne, CEO of AllConnects, explains this at the gate:
"The person arrives here at the construction site. He can't get in. He takes out his badge. Meanwhile, we check with the RSZ to make sure everything is in order. The light turns green. That means all the information has been received by the RSZ, and we can enter the construction site right away."

Inspection by the RSZ
LIVE.connect forwards the registration immediately and verifies that it was received correctly.
Green light
Only once registration is complete will the light turn green and the turnstile open.
Physical access control
Anyone who is not properly registered will not be allowed in. The checkpoint is visible to everyone on the construction site.
Registration and verification. Many systems submit a registration without letting the employee see whether it was successful. With LIVE.connect, verification with the RSZ happens immediately, and you can see the result at the gate: green or red. Learn more about Checkinatwork for the construction industry.
Waterproof? Almost—and we're honest about it
No system is completely fraud-proof. Philippe Minne also states this quite plainly in the report:
"If you really want to commit fraud, you can always find a way. It's always possible to climb over the fence in some secluded spot without anyone noticing. But in this case, it's going to take a lot of effort."
The figures from the construction site show just how close the system is to its goal: 96 percent of the people at the site have been screened. The rest are exceptions related to deliveries, and they, too, are being screened.
A scale that is impossible to achieve manually
"It costs a little more up front, but you'll quickly recoup that in administrative costs. Take this company, for example: they process 47,000 registrations per month. If you had to do all of this manually, it would be an impossible task."
A benefit you might not immediately expect: safety
In addition to registration with the RSZ, the system offers another benefit. Because it knows who is on the construction site, BPC can immediately verify whether everyone is outside in the event of an incident.
"In the event of an incident at the construction site, we can verify at any time whether everyone who was on the site has actually left."
