As soon as the passenger swipes their badge IN on the right-hand side, the system recognizes the driver as a "driver with passengers" — the highest mobility rate, valid from the first kilometer. A forgotten badge automatically results in a lower rate and less compensation for the driver.

FAQ Mobility Allowances Construction
A mobility allowance is an allowance for commuting expenses for workers without a fixed place of work.
All workers in the construction industry who do not have a permanent workplace, i.e., workers who have to go to different job sites, are entitled to a mobility allowance.
In 2025, mobility allowances in the construction industry are as follows:
- Own vehicle: €0.3381 per kilometer.
- Employer's vehicle (passenger): €0.1697 per kilometer.
- Driver with passengers: €0.1923 per kilometer.
- Driver without passengers: €0.1781 per kilometer.
The mobility allowance is partially exempt from taxes and social contributions.
Yes, modern time tracking systems offer integrations with scheduling tools, allowing you to seamlessly synchronize work hours and schedules.
The mobility allowance in the construction industry is calculated based on the actual distance traveled between home and workplace, with a minimum distance of 10 kilometers per day. The allowance is €0.1929 per kilometer, effective July 1, 2024.
- Distance:Calculate the actual distance between home and workplace (round trip).
- Minimum distance:
The mobility allowance only applies if the total distance (round trip) per day is at least 10 kilometers.
- Calculation:
Multiply the distance traveled (in kilometers) by the amount per kilometer (€0.1929).
- Taxable amount:
The mobility allowance is 50% taxable.
Example:
If an employee travels 20 kilometers per day, the mobility allowance:
20 km * €0.1929 = €3.858
- Collective transportation:
If the employee uses a company vehicle to go to the site and there is no collective transportation there, he/she will receive the mobility allowance from the first kilometer.
- Drivers:
If a driver transports staff, he/she will be reimbursed €0.1579 per kilometer, starting from the first kilometer.
- Point of attention:
The maximum exempt amount of the mobility allowance was increased to €0.1929 per kilometer from July 1, 2024.
- Tax:The mobility allowance is taxable, but the portion deemed to correspond to the employer's own costs may not be less than €12.39 per month effectively worked.
The employer must deliver a monthly detail of the mobility allowance awarded to the worker.
A mobility day is a paid day off that workers can take if they travel a certain distance each year (30,000 km or more).
If you travel by your own car or bicycle, you are entitled to a travel allowance, but if you travel by company car, you will not receive an additional allowance.
