Building the foundation

This is why the role of the hardware department is essential to ensuring that Teltonika's devices are durable, cost-effective and sustainable. The best way to understand how this happens is to take a closer look at the daily efforts of the engineers and their environment.

Our trackers are compact yet powerful because they rely on incredibly small components that are often difficult to see with the naked eye. That's why our soldering stations are equipped with digital microscopes, allowing electronics engineers to work accurately and carefully.

Meanwhile, our mechanical engineers design various device models, test them through simulations, and use 3D printers to quickly turn concepts into accurate, functional prototypes. In this way, we can review, improve and test product designs before they go into mass production.

Moreover, we develop tracker antennas ourselves by simulating them in specialized software, prototyping them and performing advanced radio frequency measurements. We send the devices with prototype antennas to partner laboratories for professional analysis and performance reports. Our engineers provide protection classes by simulating underwater pressure to ensure the devices can withstand harsh conditions. By completing these and many other steps, our products are ready to meet our customers' challenges.

Bringing hardware to life

If hardware is the foundation of our products, it is the embedded software developers who breathe life into it and transform raw machines into smart devices. This team writes secure and robust firmware that acts as the brain of each product, enabling it to perform all of its functions.

The ESD department plays a key role throughout the product life cycle, from initial development to ongoing updates and support. They ensure that the firmware is constantly in line with hardware specifications, meets customer needs and keeps our devices user-friendly.

Currently, their main focus is the development of Teltonika's 5th generation FT platform under the flexible Teltonika development framework. A customizable code allows us to react quickly to new requirements and keep our products up-to-date with the latest technology.

Connecting the dots

Our .NET developers are the "connectors" who build the bridges to connect our product in the digital world. They create online services and software solutions, making it easy for customers to update, configure and manage their tracking devices. FOTA WEB, TCT and other applications familiar to our customers are developed here.

TCT web version is one of their latest works that allows users to configure FT platform devices through a web browser, eliminating the need for manual SMS commands. Together with FOTA WEB, which guarantees remote updates and easy maintenance, these tools save time and increase efficiency for our customers.

Quality at the front of the line

When it comes to product quality, three things are most important: testing, testing and more testing. Thanks to Teltonika's testing department, our products meet the highest standards before they reach customers. This team is involved at every stage, from prototypes to the final product, ensuring that hardware, firmware and software are free of errors, defects and weaknesses.

'The test farm' is one of the most fascinating places within the department. This facility allows us to test all functionalities of our trackers, even by simulating realistic movements using a robotic arm. By automating these processes, we save more than 8,000 working hours per month!

The stability test station is another interesting location, where devices are continuously tested until new firmware versions are fully developed and validated. This ensures that our products continue to perform reliably over the long term.

Of course, this is just a glimpse of what we do. We are constantly updating and refining test scenarios to match real-world challenges, new features and the latest market trends.
