AGR-GPS: the most frequently asked questions

When transporting manure, every means of transport should have an AGR GPS system system. Yet we notice that many companies still have questions about this relatively new legislation. Here All-Connects would like to give you some more information.

A) What exactly does the AGR-GPS requirement entail?

All your means of transporting animal manure or other fertilizers should have an AGR-GPS tracker since January 1, 2012. This tracker must be part of an overall AGR-GPS system. The captured signals are thus sent in real time to the Manure Bank.

Your approved trailers or semi-trailers must also be equipped with a sensor, which indicates the loading area used to transport manure.

B) How does the AGR-GPS system work?

Every transport is done with a manure disposal document (MAD document)or an EVOA document. At the start of the transport, the driver must enter the number of the MAD or EVOA document into the AGR-GPS system via a tablet.

As soon as the driver stops at the exact loading location and before the loading takes place, he should enter a loading message in the AGR-GPS system. Is he stationary at the unloading location? Then he should enter an unloading messageeven before unloading.

Are there multiple unloading locations? Then the driver should send an unloading message to the system at each location. When the load is completely unloaded, the driver should send a final unloading message even before departure at the last unloading location.

During transport, the AGR-GPS tracker also transmits an automatic message about the intermediate location of the transport vehicle every 15 kilometers.

C) What about international shipments?

1 | Departure from Belgium

As with national transport, the driver must enter a loading message on the tablet at the exact loading location and before the load takes place. Attention: when the driver reaches the border, he should already send an unloading message. Thus, the communication of the transport ends.

2 | Departure from abroad

At the latest when entering our country, the driver may send the loading message. With that data message, the communication of the manure transport starts. The unloading message should be sent by the driver at the exact unloading location, even before the unloading takes place. And of course, he sends the final unloading message only at the last unloading location.

D) What about overnight transports?

As discussed earlier, every manure transport is done with a MAD document, which is valid for one date only - between 00:00 and 24:00. If the transport is over multiple dates, you must request two MADs in advance on the Manure Transport Internet Laboratory (MTIL).

Here the driver should send the loading message at the loading location and the final unloading message at the overnight location. The next day he should enter another loading message at the overnight location and finally the final unloading message at the final destination.

E) Is expansion to a fleet management system possible?

That extension is perfectly possible at All-Connects for an additional cost of only 48 euros per year.

F) How often should trailer sensor batteries be replaced?

Annually. And we recommend that the replacement take place early in the year, before the start of the main season. Moreover, you will always find that information on every invoice.

G) How should the placement of the AGR-GPS equipment be done?

Only an approved AGR-GPS service provider such as All-Connects may install, replace or transfer an AGR-GPS system. As a fattener, you should submit the data from the AGR-GPS device or sensor to the Manure Bank in the form of the "Reporting of AGR-GPS Data" form.

The Mestbank then creates an AGR number. As soon as you have received the document 'Overview AGR numbers' from the Mestbank, you deliver the AGR number to All-Connects. We finally program the number into the AGR-GPS device. The installation is in order after successfully sending a test message.

Kill two birds with one stone

We can attach a LIVE extension with Track & Trace functionality as an option to your AGR-GPS subscription. The application thus gives you instant and reliable information on mileage, for example. It also automatically notifies you when vehicles are due for maintenance or inspection.
