Solution for green driving

INTRO

A growing global population and the development of new technologies are contributing to increased transportation use - more vehicles are needed to move people and goods, and businesses such as car-sharing services, food delivery platforms and e-commerce are emerging and expanding. Meanwhile, driving style is one of the factors that has a direct impact on vehicle fuel consumption and longevity. If managed properly, the saved costs can be used to strengthen a business and its competitive advantage.

CHALLENGE

We all have our own driving style and do not always consider how it affects fuel consumption and vehicle maintenance. Aggressive acceleration, hard braking, cornering and speeding are dangerous not only for the driver, but also for other road users. Moreover, these instances of inappropriate driving lead to operating costs that could otherwise be avoided.

Inefficient driving produces more exhaust emissions, increasing the negative environmental impact on our planet. Making cities greener is a serious challenge for countries around the world. The safety of people and goods is also an important aspect that must be considered and given top priority. So, how can AllConnects' solutions help improve our driving style, encourage driver discipline and reduce pollution?

SOLUTION

"Green Driving" functionality is available on any AllConnects GPS tracker and can be applied to a variety of enterprise applications.

How it works - GPS trackers collect data on accelerating, braking, speeding, speeding around corners and engine idling and send it directly to a server. This information is immediately analyzed and if the values received fall outside the set thresholds, the device sends a command to the LED or buzzer connected via DOUT, alerting the driver that he or she is driving inefficiently.

In addition, our devices offer the ability to have thresholds calculated automatically based on a vehicle's specific characteristics.

What's also important - There are two sources for Green Driving: GPS data and accelerometer. GPS data is reasonably reliable and requires no extra effort to record. On the other hand, accelerometer data is more accurate and provides uninterrupted operation even when no GPS signal is available, such as in tunnels or underground parking garages. However, in order to use accelerometer data correctly, the device must perform an auto-calibration process, which, as the name implies, is automatic but can take some time. More info on this can be given to you by an AllConnects expert.

To further motivate drivers, it is possible to evaluate their driving performance and award salary or bonuses accordingly. The green driving solution is a very good example of how modern technology can not only help develop businesses, but also improve road safety and reduce the negative impact on our planet.

BENEFITS

  • Lower operating costs
Savings on fuel, tires and suspension due to improved ride quality.
  • Longer vehicle life
Keep your fleet in good condition by driving less aggressively or sportily.
  • Increased road safety
Less rough maneuvering means safer roads.
  • Less exhaust gases
Smooth acceleration and maneuvering reduces engine load and thus fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
  • Improved cargo safety
Responsible driving reduces the risk of cargo damage.
  • Simplified configuration
Set recommended values for acceleration, braking and cornering for specific vehicles to ensure best scenario performance.
