Rovetra is a Belgian transportation company that specializes in manure transport, one of the most strictly regulated transportation activities in Flanders. Since 2022, Rovetra has been carrying out its manure transport operations using AllConnects’ AGR-GPS system, with hardware installed in both the tractor and trailer, and also uses the AGR tablet in every cab for email, customer apps, CMR photos, and tachograph readings.
"We specifically chose AllConnects because they are government-certified for AGR manure transport. And it’s been growing steadily. We started with just one truck, and now we have a whole arsenal of track-and-trace hardware and equipment from AllConnects."
About Rovetra
Rovetra is a transportation company based in Oevel that specializes in manure transport. In Belgium, this is one of the most strictly regulated transportation activities: the government requires that every shipment be tracked, digitized, and documented, and the fines for violations are severe.
The challenge: a single system for AGR, track and trace, and tachographs
"At Rovetra, we were working very hard to find a system that could meet many of our needs: our AGR, our track-and-trace system, and the retrieval of data from our tachographs. And that’s when we first met at the trade show in Weelde."
That first meeting took place at the Agridagen in Weelde in 2022. The deciding factor was the government’s recognition: AllConnects is recognized by the government for the digital tracking of AGR manure transports.
The solution: AGR-GPS in both the tractor and the trailer
For certified manure transporters, AGR-GPS consists of hardware installed in both the tractor and the trailer, with an AGR tablet in the cab. From the moment a transport departs, government authorities can monitor it in real time. This is not an option, but a legal requirement.
Certified manure transporter
Integrated hardware in the tractor and trailer, featuring an AGR tablet and a real-time connection to government systems. This is what Rovetra uses.
Neighborhood agreement
For using your own manure on your own land: a simple smartphone app with the same government integration.
Because the system has to work perfectly, AllConnects uses 4G from carefully selected providers. Peter Meersschaert of AllConnects is candid about this:
"Nothing is flawless, right? So let's be honest about that. We also rely on networks and platforms. If something does go wrong, we have a support team that's always there to help."
More Than Just AGR: The Tablet as a Digital Workstation
The tablet installed in every vehicle for the AGR coupling became a fully-fledged mobile workstation with the addition of a SIM card.
"We have a mailbox set up there. We have the customers' apps. We can take photos with them. Our fellow drivers can take a photo of the CMR in an instant. It’s automatically forwarded to our back office. So for us, a tablet means much more than just track-and-trace, reading the tachographs, and driver cards. We can do so much more with it."
Email and Customer Apps
Directly from the cab, without a separate cell phone or laptop.
CMR photos
Automatically forwarded to the back office immediately after delivery.
Tachographs and Driver Cards
Read and tracked via FLEET.connect.
Fuel consumption
Tracked by vehicle in the same software.
Rovetra was also one of the first customers to help test AllConnects' new Bluetooth-based trailer tracking system.
"They were also the pioneers. We recently launched a new trailer tracking system based on Bluetooth. It’s much more reliable, much more stable, and more durable. These are technologies we developed, and they were actually on the front lines, helping to test them."
An investment that pays for itself
The transportation sector is known for its tight margins. Wouldn't a system like that be too big an investment?
"It's an investment—that's absolutely right. I'm convinced—and so is Rovetra, for that matter—that this investment will pay for itself to a large extent."
Working More Efficiently
Less paperwork and faster communication between drivers and the back office.
Properly documented
All shipments are tracked and reported to the government. This protects against heavy AGR fines.
Are you involved in manure transport or the agricultural sector?
We’d be happy to work with you to see how you can properly track your AGR shipments—and what else the tablet in your cab can do for you.
