Larob & Alu-Coating: fleet, team, and equipment on one platform

Mailboxes, aluminium processing, and interior construction: the group from Brecht has been tracking fleet, teams, and equipment since 2014 with FLEET.connect, LIVE.connect, and CHECK.connect.

Larob from Brecht, part of Holding Tian, produces aluminium mailboxes and delivers them with its own trucks. Sister company Alu-Coating processes and powder-coats aluminium, and Gyma specializes in interior construction. Since 2014, the three companies have been tracking their fleet, teams, and equipment on a single platform using FLEET.connect, LIVE.connect, and CHECK.connect, with automatic route planning via Sygic.

When we call, we get help. Fast, personal, and always with a smile. That is worth its weight in gold.

About Larob, Alu-Coating and Gyma

How do you digitize the operations of three separate companies without sacrificing flexibility or ease of use? The companies behind Larob in Brecht found the answer at AllConnects.

Larob

Aluminium mailboxes: design, production, and delivery with our own trucks.

Aluminum Coating

Cutting, bending, milling, welding, and powder coating of aluminium.

Gyma

Interior construction and finishing, with installation teams on site.

We handle everything ourselves: from design to delivery with our own trucks. We often combine transport with that of our sister companies. Today we are driving in Limburg, tomorrow in Brussels or West Flanders. Thanks to AllConnects, we maintain a perfect overview.
Guido Lauryssen, Managing Director

From two vans to one platform

The collaboration started in 2014, with simple track and trace on two delivery vans.

Our account manager at the time visited regularly, and we immediately felt that it was the right fit. We wanted insight into our fleet in a user-friendly and affordable way.
Guido Lauryssen, Managing Director

That initial insight grew into a comprehensive solution: route optimization, driver recognition, automatic tachograph reading, asset tracking, and digital Checkinatwork registration. This is how it happens often, says Peter Meersschaert of AllConnects:

SMEs usually start with fleet monitoring. After that, we evolve along with their needs.
Peter Meersschaert, Sales Manager AllConnects

Three companies, three platforms, one overview. FLEET.connect for the fleet and route planning, LIVE.connect for the teams and Checkinatwork, and CHECK.connect for the equipment. Each company retains its own vehicles, employees, and equipment; management sees everything in one central overview.

The vans and company cars of the various companies are now easy to trace. Whether it concerns deliveries from Larob, assembly teams from Gyma, or transport at Alu-Coating: everything is perfectly tracked, day by day, site by site.

Smart route planning with Sygic

In the past, we didn't know if our routes were optimal. Today, we create targeted 'loops' per region: Limburg, East Flanders… We enter 20 addresses, the software calculates the best sequence and takes obstacles such as bridge heights or tonnage restrictions into account.
Geert Dox, Commercial Employee

The delivery lists from Larob and its sister companies are bundled, after which the software determines the most efficient route. Obstacles such as bridge heights and tonnage restrictions come from Sygic, navigation software for the transport sector with which AllConnects integrates directly. This ensures drivers receive routes that are realistic and safe for their vehicle.

"The driver can actively track their route through the driver app: check off stops, add notes, and take photos of the delivery location. The dispatcher monitors the route in real time and provides guidance as needed."
Peter Meersschaert, AllConnects
Route planning in FLEET.connect with automatically ordered stops and Sygic alerts for bridge height and maximum weight.
Route planning in FLEET.connect: 13 stops automatically ordered by region, with warnings for road restrictions such as maximum bridge height and tonnage via Sygic.

Construction and transport combined

What makes the group unique is the mix of production, transport, interior construction, and installation. This calls for smart connections between the solutions.

Check-in at work via geofence

Employees are automatically logged in at the construction site as soon as they enter the geofence zone. More about Checkinatwork .

Driver recognition

In shared vehicles, the system always knows who is behind the wheel via driver identification .

Time Tracking

Time registration starts automatically upon departure to the construction site, without any additional actions.

Trackers on trailers

Trailers and equipment are visible on the same platform. You always know what is where.

This way, you know exactly who was where, when, and with what equipment. And that without extra paperwork for our people.
Peter Meersschaert, AllConnects
Daily activity of an employee in LIVE.connect with kilometers driven, driving times, and live location, automatically linked to the vehicle.
Driver recognition in LIVE.connect: an employee's daily activity, including mileage, driving times, and live location. The system automatically links the employee to the vehicle.

Everything on one device

The delivery lists also evolved along with this: from paper printouts to digital lists on a tablet in the vehicle, with automatic linking of the tachograph data.

The tablets in the vehicles are a game changer. They replace the mobile phones that were lying around everywhere. You can make calls, take photos of deliveries, chat with the back office, and upload everything to the correct customer file. Much more efficient.

Why the group keeps choosing AllConnects

The price is right and the solutions do what they are supposed to do. But the difference lies in the service.
Geert Dox, Commercial Employee
Peter is practically part of the family here and knows us inside out. But I definitely want to mention his colleagues in support and administration as well: always quick, personal, and with a smile. No hassle, no queues. That makes a big difference for us.
Geert Dox, Commercial Employee

For Peter Meersschaert, that works in two directions:

It is very nice to hear that good clients like Larob choose us for what we do and how we do it. We want our clients to feel: you are not alone!
Peter Meersschaert, AllConnects

The collaboration was also highlighted in STERCK. Magazine (edition 51, Antwerp) as an example of how an SME can digitize without headaches.
