What does a sensor do with WiFi?
This is an active way to monitor company assets used indoors or in densely populated geographical areas (e.g. City, industrial park, ...). Through this WiFi sensor, the asset data is automatically transmitted via WiFi to the CHECK platform.
How does the technology work?
- A Wifi sensor (or tag) is attached to the asset
- Through WiFi sniffing technology, the two MAC addresses with the strongest WiFi signal are identified and used to do the location determination
- The data is automatically forwarded to the online management application
- In the infofiche of the asset you can add - in combination with QR code that is co-integrated on the bluetooth tag - all kinds of actions
How does the sensor with WiFi differ from a tag with bluetooth?
The big difference is that the sensor with WiFi does not require a gateway or smartphone. In contrast, you are dependent on external MAC addresses over which you have no control. Thanks to the integrated geofencing function, you can automatically receive an alarm notification if the asset leaves this virtually demarcated zone. This tag can thus be used as an invisible theft alarm. Note that the location determination can only be done in zones where at least 2 MAC address signals are present.
What kind of business assets do you follow up on?
- Televisions, cleaning machines, equipment carts, computers: all valuable materials that are indoors and not allowed to go outside a certain geofence zone without permission.
What are its main strengths?
- Geofencing
- Compact yet high performance
- Certain settings such as the number of messages per day can be adjusted remotely
