Painting Studio: Accurately tracking job site performance ā without having to be there every day
Schilderstudio and Straalstudio are two specialized companies based in Kontich that focus on fine painting and the sandblasting of staircases and old beams, with ten to fifteen people on site every day. Manager Bjorn Van den Brande uses AllConnects to track when his crews arrive at and leave the job site, and receives a notification if a company vehicle is still on the road after hours.

The challenge: 10 minutes per person per day really adds up
The math is simple, but the reality is stark. If several people on a crew start 10 to 15 minutes late or finish 10 to 15 minutes early every day, labor costs can really add upāwithout you, as the manager, even realizing it. Especially in the construction industry, where labor costs in Belgium are already high, that represents a real loss.
Bjorn would often start up the construction sites himself and be there in personābut he couldnāt do that every day. He needed a way to verify remotely whether his team was arriving at the site on time and when they were leaving. Not to monitor them just for the sake of it, but to be honest with his people and with himself.

Implementing Tracking Without Resistance: How Schilderstudio Did It
The search for a solution was brief. A single online search for a track & trace company in the area led Bjorn to AllConnects, which is literally just around the corner from Schilderstudio. But the implementation itself wasnāt about technology. It was about people.
Following the conversation with the salesperson, a careful four-step implementation process took place:
- Contact the social services office. Not after the fact, but before a single device was installed. one device was installed.
- We reviewed the laws regarding the tracking of personnel and vehicles so that it was clear what was and wasn't allowed.
- The employment contracts were amended so that the agreements were set out in writing.
- Complete transparency with the staff. Everyone knew what was being monitored, and why.
